The Substance is the bike that will go anywhere you point it; on whatever road surface you choose.
Launched in 2019 with a T6-6061 double butted aluminium frame and carbon fork designed to take both 700c and 650b wheels & tyres, the possibilities are endless. This Substance takes inspiration from its carbon and steel siblings, delivered in a more affordable package…equally as capable and delivered with superb value
Featuring a tapered headtube, and full carbon forks, the Substance aluminium is born tough. This bike is made for adventure, or dependable and comfortable riding, whether that’s your daily commute or weekend spin. With the addition of mounts for luggage, mud guards and multiple bottles it’s also capable of the biggest bike packing or touring adventures.
The Substance VRS-1 is fitted with SRAM’s Apex 1 hydraulic groupset, giving you a gear range that can copy with any terrain. X-Sync technology from the chainset and a Roller Bearing Clutch on the rear mech means your chain will always stay firmly planted, whatever the adventure.
The Substance VRS-1 is fitted with WTB ST Light i23 TCS rims, laced to Alex Bear Pawl hubs, and fitted with big volume WTB Venture TCS 47mm tyres. We believe 650b is the future of adventure cycling, the large outer diameter keeps your wheels rolling over bumps, whilst the added tyre volume allows you to adjust pressures depending on the terrain for grip, comfort and luggage weight. The Wheels and tyres are tubeless ready, so just install the supplied valves and add sealant if you want to run tubeless.
Finishing kit is made up of a Vitus 6061 aluminium handlebar, stem and seat post. The handlebars feature a flat top section for added comfort on and off road, with the Substance CRS-1 featuring a 16-degree bar flare. The bike is finished with a Vitus saddle with Ti rails.
